YCN Representative - Poland
Weronika Bulejak
YCN representative for Poland
Faculty of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology, Poland
I recently obtained my PhD degree at the Doctoral School of the Warsaw University of Technology, where I conducted my research at the Chair of Chemical Technology within the Faculty of Chemistry. I completed both my Engineer’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Technology at the Warsaw University of Technology. My doctoral research was carried out under the supervision of Professor Mikolaj Szafran, with Professor Sylwester Rzoska as the second supervisor.
My PhD research focused on the development, synthesis and characterization of ferroelectric ceramic-polymer composites based on barium strontium titanate (Ba0.65Sr0.35TiO3, BST) and specially designed water-thinnable polymeric dispersions. The main objective of this work was to investigate the relationships between the structure and chemistry of the ceramic phase, the molecular architecture of the polymeric matrix, and the processing methods used to fabricate the composites. These factors were analysed in terms of their influence on the structural, dielectric and functional properties of BST/polymer materials intended for applications in microwave technologies, flexible electronics and modern wireless communication systems.
Currently, my research interests focus on additive manufacturing of advanced ceramic structures, particularly the development of 3D-printed catalyst supports for plasma-catalytic ammonia decomposition. This research combines ceramic processing, additive manufacturing technologies and catalytic materials development in order to design structured materials for energy-related applications.
During my scientific career, I have been involved in several research projects related to advanced ceramic materials and additive manufacturing. I also gained international research experience during a scientific internship at Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’an, China, where I worked on the fabrication of BST/PVDF-ABS composites using FDM 3D printing.
I have participated in several international scientific conferences, including events organized by the European Ceramic Society. I am very pleased and honored to serve as the Polish YCN Representative and to contribute to strengthening collaboration within the Young Ceramists Network.
